§ 50-16. Administration.

  • (a)

    Enforcing officials. The provisions of this chapter shall be administered and enforced by the building official or other duly authorized representatives of the village.

    (b)

    Right to trespass. The building official or any duly authorized person shall have the right to enter upon any premises necessary to carry out his duties in the enforcement of this chapter.

    (c)

    Stop orders. Whenever any building work is being done contrary to provisions of this chapter, the building official may order the work stopped by notice in writing served on any person engaged in doing or causing such work to be done, and any such person shall forthwith stop such work until authorized by the building official to proceed with the work.

    (d)

    Permit necessary to erect, move, add to or structurally alter buildings. No building or other structure shall be erected, moved, added to, or structurally altered without a building permit therefor issued by the building official. No building permit shall be issued, except in conformity with the provisions of this chapter, except after written order from the board of adjustment.
